Ocean Growth Security provides window cleaning in Dubai for towers, offices, retail units, hotels, villas and mixed-use buildings. Internal and external glass, cleaned by the access method the building actually supports, with the method, permit and risk assessment agreed before the date is fixed.
Glass in Dubai has a specific problem: fine dust and airborne sand bond to the surface, and glass cleaned with the wrong method scratches permanently. The first clean after a dusty period is the one that does the damage if it is rushed.
What window cleaning covers
- External glass — façade windows, curtain walling, balcony glazing and entrance screens.
- Internal glass — office partitions, meeting room glazing, doors, balustrades and reception screens.
- Frames and sills — the parts that make glass look dirty even when the pane is clean.
- Atrium and high-level glass — reached with the correct access equipment rather than an improvised platform.
- Canopies and glazed roofs — cleaned where access and safety allow.
Access methods, and why they decide the price
Window cleaning is priced by how you reach the glass, not by how much glass there is:
- Water-fed poles — purified water through an extendable pole, reaching several storeys from the ground with no working at height. The safest and usually the cheapest method where the pole can actually reach.
- Abseiling (rope access) — technicians descending the façade on ropes. Used where poles cannot reach, where the building has no gondola, and on complex façades. Requires certified technicians and a permit.
- Gondola or building maintenance unit — the fastest method where the building has one, subject to the unit being certified and available.
- Cradles and suspended platforms — for larger areas of façade where a gondola is not installed.
- Ladders and towers — for low-rise buildings and ground-floor glazing only.
Two buildings with identical glass area can differ several-fold in cost because one can be reached from the ground and the other cannot.
Frequency
In Dubai, external glass typically needs cleaning monthly to quarterly depending on the location — a building next to a construction site or on a main road with heavy traffic needs more frequent attention than one set back from the dust. Internal glass is usually weekly or fortnightly as part of the cleaning contract. We will recommend a frequency based on the building’s actual exposure rather than a standard package.
Safety, permits and access
Working at height is regulated, and the paperwork matters as much as the equipment:
- Rope access technicians hold current certification, and equipment is inspected before use.
- Permits are arranged with the building, and where the façade faces a public area, the necessary permissions and ground-level cordons are in place.
- Weather is a genuine constraint. High wind, rain and dust storms stop rope access work, and dates have to allow for that rather than pretending they do not.
- Residents and tenants are notified in advance where work is visible from windows or where access to balconies is needed.
How window cleaning is priced
Pricing is based on the glass area, the access method required, the number of storeys, whether internal glass is included, the frequency and any permit or traffic-management requirements. A one-off façade clean and a scheduled internal glass contract are quoted separately because they are different jobs with different teams.
To quote we need the building, the number of floors, the façade type, and whether the building has a gondola or maintenance unit. A site visit answers most of it in under an hour.
Frequently asked questions
How often should high-rise glass be cleaned in Dubai?
Most towers need external glass cleaned monthly to quarterly. Buildings close to construction or heavy traffic usually need the higher end of that range.
Can you reach upper floors without abseiling?
Often yes, using water-fed poles, which avoids working at height entirely. Whether it is possible depends on the height, the overhangs and what is beneath.
Do you clean interior glass as well?
Yes, usually as part of a cleaning contract. It is quoted separately from façade work because the access and the team are different.
What happens if it is windy on the scheduled day?
Rope access work stops. We will reschedule rather than work in conditions that make a fall more likely.
Do you clean solar panels and glazed roofs?
Where access and safety allow, yes. Both are quoted after a survey.
