Ocean Growth Security provides lifeguard services in Dubai for hotel pools, residential and community pools, beaches, waterparks and leisure facilities. Lifeguards are qualified, directly employed and supervised, and every facility runs to a written emergency procedure agreed with the operator.
Lifeguarding is the one security discipline where the failure mode is a death rather than a loss. That changes how the service has to be run: qualification, ratios, scanning discipline and rehearsal matter more than the uniform.
Where lifeguards are required
- Hotel and resort pools — including separate adult, children’s and plunge pools, which usually need cover in more than one place at once.
- Residential and community pools — towers, compounds and villa communities, often with a single pool that has to be covered across long opening hours.
- Beaches and beach clubs — open water, currents, and a much larger and less predictable area to watch.
- Waterparks and leisure facilities — attractions, slides and splash areas, where specific positions and rotations are set by the operator’s own procedure.
- Events and private functions — pool parties, corporate leisure days and filming, where the normal rules of the facility are temporarily changed.
Qualifications and training
Every lifeguard we deploy holds a recognised lifeguard qualification, with current CPR and first-aid certification. Beyond certification, guards are trained on the specific facility before their first shift: pool depths and profiles, entry and exit points, the location of rescue equipment, the emergency action plan, the alarm and communication method, and who takes charge in a rescue.
Certifications are tracked with renewal dates so that a qualification never quietly lapses while someone is on the rota.
Ratios and cover patterns
Lifeguard ratios are set by the facility’s own operating requirements and by the pool layout rather than by a single national figure. In practice:
- A single rectangular pool with clear sightlines can often be covered by one guard, provided the guard can genuinely see the whole pool floor.
- Pools with blind spots — an L-shape, a bridge, a water feature, glare from glass — need more than one position regardless of bather numbers.
- Children’s pools and splash areas generally need dedicated cover rather than sharing a guard with the main pool.
- Beaches need coverage proportional to the water area and the number of swimmers, and conditions change with tide and wind.
We will walk the facility and say plainly where a single guard cannot see the whole pool. That conversation usually saves an incident.
Equipment and emergency procedures
Rescue equipment is checked at the start of every shift: rescue tubes and boards, reaching poles, spinal boards, first-aid kit, oxygen where the facility provides it, and the rescue alarm or whistle system. Anything missing or damaged is reported rather than worked around.
Emergency procedures are written for the facility and rehearsed, not just documented. That includes who clears the pool, who calls for medical assistance, which entrance the ambulance uses, how the pool is closed and reopened, and how the incident is recorded afterwards.
What lifeguard services do not include
We staff the pool; we do not run it. Water testing and chemical dosing, plant and filtration maintenance, cleaning of the pool and surrounds, and the facility’s own health and safety documentation remain with the operator or their maintenance contractor. Where a client wants both under one contract, we will coordinate with the pool maintenance provider rather than blur the responsibility.
How lifeguard services are priced
Lifeguards are priced per guard per shift, based on the number of positions that need covering simultaneously, the opening hours, whether the facility is a pool, beach or waterpark, and the ratio the facility requires. Covering a pool from 06:00 to 22:00 with two positions is a substantially different contract from a single daytime position.

Are your lifeguards qualified?
Yes. Every lifeguard holds a recognised qualification with current CPR and first aid, and certifications are tracked for renewal.
Can one lifeguard cover two pools?
Only where both are visible from one position at all times, with no obstruction or distance that would delay a rescue. In most facilities that is not the case, and we will say so.
Do you cover beaches as well as pools?
Yes, including open-water cover where the operator’s procedure supports it.
Do you handle pool cleaning and chemicals?
No. That is a separate maintenance contract. We can coordinate with your existing provider.
Can you cover a one-off pool event?
Yes. Private functions, corporate leisure days and filming are covered on a per-event basis.
